Performance Comparison of Two Topologies Double-Fed Brushless Machine with 36 Slots for Low-Speed Applications
نویسندگان
چکیده
The performances of two topologies of low-speed double-fed brushless machine (DFBM) with fractional slot windings are quantitatively compared and analyzed using two-dimensional (2-D) finite element method (FEM). To fairly compare the torque capability and power efficiency of different DFBMs, the investigated DFBMs have the same outer diameter, the same axial stack length and the same iron core materials, and some comparison rules are presented. In order to maximize the torque density, several important structure parameters are optimized. The results of this paper reveal the torque density levels and power density levels of two kinds of DFBMs. Copyright © 2014 IFSA Publishing, S. L.

Equivalent circuit for the brushless doubly fed machine (BDFM) including parameter estimation and experimental verification
Experimental results from a frame size 180 brushless doubly fed (induction) machine (BDFM) fitted with four rotor designs are presented. The machine is intended for use as a variable speed generator, or drive. A per phase equivalent circuit for the machine has been developed and a method of obtaining parameters for the circuit is described. Expressions for the torque as a function of speed have...
متن کاملParameter and Performance Comparison of Doubly Fed Brushless Machine With Cage and Reluctance Rotors
The cage and reluctance rotors are two major types of rotor structures used in the doubly fed brushless machine (DFBM). In order to study comparatively the effects of different rotor structure on the DFBM, a prototype machine has been specially designed and built. The experimental parameter and performance comparisons between the axially laminated anisotropic (ALA) and cage-rotor machines are p...
متن کاملA Novel Hybrid-Excited Modular Variable Reluctance Motor for Electric Vehicle Applications: Analysis, Comparison, and Implementation
A variable reluctance machine (VRM) has been proven to be an outstanding candidate for electric vehicle (EV) applications. This paper introduces a new double-stator, 12/14/12-pole three-phase hybrid-excited modular variable reluctance machine (MVRM) for EV applications. In order to demonstrate the superiorities of the proposed structure, the static torque characteristics and dynamic performance...

With the rapid growth of an AC adjusted speed system application, it is necessary to control and reduce harmonic pollution since the problem brought about by the device of power electronics not only blocks the development of power electronics technology, but also causes severe harm in an electri...
متن کاملPerformance Description of Brushless Doubly-Fed Induction Machine in Its Asynchronous and Variable Speed Synchronous Modes
Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine has attracted considerable attention in recent years due to its advantages. It has the robustness of the squirrel cage induction machine, and the speed and power factor controllability of the synchronous machine as well as the absence of brushes and slip rings, and using a fractionally rated frequency converter. Hence, there are considerable benefits over the conven...
